On the road again…

on my way home!

Now, there is driving alone and there is driving with your best friend!

So, Yvonne and I were happily singing and dancing to the Black Eyed Peas…

(Ladies, you know this routine)

People rockin to the sound
Turn it up and watch it pound
We gone rock it to the top
Until the roof come burnin down
Yeah, it’s hot in herrre
The temperaturrre
Has got these ladies
Gettin? freakierrr…

dirty bit

when Yvonne saw a sign for a ghost town!  Of course, we had to stop at a real live ghost town!

Now, before I go any further…Yvonne has given me permission to comment but I will let you observe the difference  instead:

“One of these pictures does not look like the other…” (I loved that bit on Sesame Street-I was good at it!)

I, being Yvonne’s best friend, gave her a good teasing for her photography skills. But also being her best friend, I have tried to edit the rest of the photo’s she took so that they look a little more centered, and  so as not to embarrass her too badly on this blog.

Our first bit of luck or pity, I don’t know which, was as we drove up to the entrance of Calico Ghost Town. I asked the lady in the booth, “So, what is here?”  (We must have looked lost and confused.) She laughed and said, “This one is on me.” and didn’t charge us the $7 per person fee.

Apparently, it really was a tourist attraction because there was room for bus parking and we heard people speaking French and others with Swedish accents.

Here’s where travel blogger inserts history of place for your informational needs:

Here is where travel blogger inserts cool photo’s of place to entice you to visit:

Here is where travel blogger inserts silly photo’s just because we all have had to endure  staged family photo’s on vacations.

(He he he he,  I forced Yvonne to experience it with her best friend. 🙂

So, after lots of staged photo fun, icie and diet coke, we were on our way singing once again.

People rockin to the sound
Turn it up and watch it pound
We gone rock it to the top…

Good road trip-Good times!
